   Cobalt, you say is granulating, but it adds a really interesting texture as background. Like grain in a photograph. It changes the dynamics of the image in an interesting way. All the best.

      That is what granulating watercolours are good for, and why I chose cobalt blue. It adds interest to an otherwise flat monotonous surface.

         I need to learn re: watercolour techniques/methods. So busy with fountain pens and India/China inks with dip nib try outs presently. Thank you for explaining. All the best.
