Inktober Day 17: Ginko Biloba (Autumn Foliage part 1)

There’s no real autumn here, and I really miss the leaves changing colour and an actual autumnal season, so I decided to dedicate the next few inktober sketches to trees in autumn. The first is ginko biloba, with its gorgeous golden leaves.
This was sketched with a Pentel GFKP brush pen, the king of brush pens, and Faber Castell Pitt brush pens on an A4 Midori MD Cotton notebook.

Inktober Day 11: Icon Festival

I was at the Israeli comic con, Icon, on Tuesday, but I was too busy to really capture event beyond a haze of stalls in the dark. This was sketched using a Pentel brush pen and a Faber Castell Pitt pen.

#OneWeek100People: day 12

I’m done! It took me longer than I expected, but it was a warm day today, so I took a brush pen and sketched people on the move, from life and not from photos. I’m glad that I participated in this challenge, and I hope that it will kickstart my urban sketching again.

Inktober 31: Happy Halloween!

The outline and cat were drawn with a Waterman Phileas (EF nib) and Noodler’s Heart of Darkness (which I haven’t used in years, no idea why), and the hat and clothes were filled in with a Tombow Fudenosuke dual sided brush pen.

It was a fun challenge, and I really pushed myself this year to try new and different things. Can’t wait for next year’s Inktober!

Inktober 29: Grass Cutting

I was short on time today, so of course I chose a nice and simple topic…
In Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park in London traditional methods of grass cutting are in use to keep the soil healthy and protect the local wildlife. That means that if you’re lucky, you might see these handsome fellows at work while you’re there.
