Wind blowing, waves crashing
The wind was crazy on tonight’s run, which explains the waves. A quick 4K in the bag, despite me not wanting to leave the house.

I challenged myself to wake up at 5 AM today and go on a run. Was rewarded by the best full moon views ever.

Set out while it was still dark outside:

Was rewarded by an awesome sunrise:

And some Egyptian geese:

As well as a pied kingfisher on the hunt:

A white-throated kingfisher was perching on a wire above the boat dock (you can barely see him, I know, but they’re flighty, so I couldn’t get nearer):

I was super surprised to see a ring-necked dove, as they’ve been overrun by common pigeons:

On the way back I saw a gathering of kayaks in the sea, which was a first for me:

A little over 10K on a very interesting run:

Early morning 9k in weather I wish would never end. I encountered a surprising amount of Egyptian Geese on the way, and they were in a relatively friendly mood, allowing me to get pretty close to take photos of them.

Took a new route on today’s 8k run, and was rewarded with a flock of parakeets grazing in the park grass outside the local power station.

You can barely make them out here, but they’re also some parakeets perched on the yellow bush in the middle of the photo.

All in all, a good, relatively fast 8k run in what is becoming better and better running weather.
Today’s 5k featured a giant Succa. Enjoy.

This is probably going to be my last 10K long run before my next race. I set out just as the sun was rising, and since not many people were around, the birds weren’t as flighty as usual (pun intended). So I got pretty close to this night heron, and even closer to several Egytian geese, including the handsome fellow I photographed below. These birds are pretty big, and I didn’t want to get on their wrong side, so I just admired them as I ran by.

This was today’s sunrise. It was pretty stunning, but I should have taken better notice of those clouds. It rained for the last 10 minutes of my run, which was refreshing at first, but as the sidewalks got slippery, pretty dangerous later on.

I started my run a little after 6 o’clock, just catching the sunrise. I was planning on running a 9k, but the weather was perfect, so I pushed myself to run a 10k. I was rewarded by a pretty close look at a night heron, and some pretty nice river views.

Went on a 5k run this evening, and though the weather was hot and humid, a breeze kicked up in the end, easing some of my sweaty discomfort.
It was a big cloud kind of day:

Stopped on my way to take a few pictures of ducks and a night heron:

A young woman was sitting by the artificial lake with her dog, taking in the view and adding to it:

A hot air balloon made escorted me for a while:

Then rushed back, before it was too dark to see the path back.
I ran a 5k yesterday, through the late night summer crowds, heat and humidity. It was low tide and a fisherman was out trying his luck at the beach, his footprints crisscrossing the floodlit sand.

Our bright and early for a relatively cool 8k, with some pretty great, no filter opportunities to photograph waterfowl in the sunrise.
